Welcome to my blog!

Calling all cheese lovers!  It’s the moment you’ve all be waiting for – Edam Good Cheese Blog has finally hit the small screens.  Dedicated to all things cheese, you can expect honest reviews, helpful tips and above all lots and lots of cheese.

Edam Good Cheese Blog is brought to you by yours truly!  Yes, this is the face behind the words.  For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of meeting me yet, my name is Jacqui Keiss.  I’m a digital marketer by day and a cheese-loving blogger by night.

This isn’t my first venture into blogging.  After graduating from university, I landed a copywriting role at a large digital marketing agency in Glasgow.  A big part of this job involved writing other people’s blogs and now I finally have my own slice of the internet.

I had thought about writing a blog for ages – five years to be exact – and finally, here it is.  So, what took me so long?  Well, truth be told I couldn’t decide what to write about – these things can’t be done lightly you know.

Cheese and Techno

Initially I was going to write a lifestyle blog but do we really need another lifestyle blog?  I think not.  There are so many of them going around these days that I wanted to do something a bit different.

With a little help from a friend, I eventually narrowed it down to cheese and techno – two of my favourite things.  It was a toss-up between the two but in the end, I decided to blog about cheese.  I’m seriously obsessed with the stuff so it seemed the obvious choice.

As much as I love food I prefer eating it rather than cooking it.  I’m not joking when I say I’m a terrible cook.  I’m that bad in the kitchen I burn water.   Occasionally I’ll be reviewing various culinary delights but they’ll be of someone else’s creation rather than my own – whether I’m eating out or I’ve coerced someone into rustling me up something.

A World of Cheese

I’ll also be reviewing heaps of cheese from the weird and the wonderful to new varieties and old favourites.  I get asked all the time if I have a favourite cheese and to be honest I don’t have one but the smellier the better if you ask me.  For the benefit of my blog I’m going to stay open-minded and try as many different cheeses as possible – even ones, I wouldn’t normally go for.  This way my blog will cover a wide variety of tastes so there should be something for everyone.

I’m pretty excited about my new blog and I’m looking forward to sharing my love of cheese with you all!
